I strive to contribute to food sovereignty through nonprofit work, farming, and advocacy. As an AmeriCorps member through City Year Los Angeles, I learned about complexities of a large urban school system and the inequities that exist. Now, as a fellow at Repair the World: Philadelphia, I finally get to focus on exactly what I am passionate about: food access and social justice.

I like to move around and learn about cultures throughout the country. I grew up in Pennsylvania, went to college in Wisconsin, and worked for a year in California. Experiencing different regions has introduced me to a multitude of nonprofit organizations and varying solutions to social justice issues. I can also talk for hours about the differences between the accents of the Midwest, Southern California, and the Northeast.

On my days off, I always find time to hike, climb, and run. I love visiting National Parks and will never turn down a backpacking trip. I have run six half marathons in three states, and have my first marathon on the calendar. Otherwise, I enjoy making curry, braiding bread, playing backgammon, and going to [too many] concerts.
