Sloane Davidson is Director of Social Media at mcgarrybowen, an award-winning agency who has won multiple awards as “Agency of the Year” – 2009 by Advertising Age and 2011 by Advertising Age and Adweek.
Previously she was Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing for The Lippe Taylor Group, a communications and public relations agency that focuses on marketing to women. Sloane has over ten years of experience working with with clients across beauty, consumer lifestyle, e-commerce, nonprofits, technology and corporate social responsibility.
She is also a long-time blogger and online influencer. Sloane first starting blogging in 2005 as lifestyle editor for the largest city-based blog in Los Angeles, LAist.com and then in 2009 for her own blog, The Causemopolitan. She has launched many of her own digital/experiential campaigns including NOLAlicious, CrisisCampNOLA, Gulf Coast Benefit, Cause It’s My Birthday and Help A Woman Out.
An active philanthropist, she has raised, to date, over $1.5 million dollars for nonprofits and is on the Board of She’s The First and an advisor to Resolve Network.
Sloane is a frequent public speaker and has been featured on CNN, Mashable, Triple Pundit and The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Sloane was the “citizen journalist” at the 2010 World Economic Forum and was named a Top 10 Twitter influencer at the 2010 Clinton Global Initiative and a “Top Women To Follow On Twitter” by Forbes.
She spent 2009 on sabbatical volunteering with nonprofits including the St. Bernard Project in New Orleans and working in microfinance in the the field as a Kiva Fellow in the Philippines.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Sloane has a BA in Political Science from the University of Vermont and now happily resides in New York City.
