I began my journey into information technology at the age of 9. I grew up in New York City and the public school system offered computer programming courses to grades 6 and up. Tihis was not an elective but a required course for atleast one year. Around this time my sister Cheri loaned me her new PC called a Timex-Sinclair. It boasted all of 2k [ 2 kilobytes ] of available programmable RAM [ Random Access Memory ] and a black and white video display which was fed via RF [ Radio Frequency ] to a television screen.

While many of my peers spent their free time playing Atari, ColecoVision and Intellivision - I spent mine writing my own videogames in Basic or Assembly language.
