Samantha Yeargin
Software Engineer, Writer, and Advocate in Nashville, TN
I am a senior software engineer at Hatch. I've worked with Elixir, TypeScript, Go, Python/Django, React, Erlang/OTP, Ruby on Rails, and Node.js.
My first software development job was writing Erlang at a large healthcare company. I did not know Erlang when I was hired.
Before that I managed business-to-business marketing communications efforts for a small manufacturer and digital marketing efforts for a large regional not-for-profit organization. When I'm not coding or actively parenting, I'm running, practicing yoga, or trying my hardest to finish writing a novel.
I've previously served as:
• VP of Operations with the Junior League of Nashville for 2020-21,
• curriculum co-chair on the board of the New Leaders Council Nashville chapter,
• chair of the Nonprofit SIG and chair of the Website/Technology Committee for the Nashville chapter of the American Marketing Association,
• chief information officer for the Davidson County UT Alumni Association chapter,
• a director on the board of the Nashville Region UT Martin Alumni chapter of the UT Alumni Association,
• treasurer for the Davidson County Young Democrats, and
• the Davidson County Democratic Party Executive Committeewoman for District 6 (East Nashville).
I am a member of the Nashville Emerging Leaders 2014 class, the New Leaders Council Nashville Chapter 2014 fellow cohort, and the Young Leaders Council / Junior League of Nashville 2014 class, as well as a graduate of Nashville Software School's Cohort 5 (also 2014).
