In September 1856, one of the casualties of Missouri River - Arabia Steamboat sank with the 200 tons of cargo that were destined for a town in Iowa. In 1988, a group of amateur archaeologists found this wreckage, who were determined to excavate a steamboat. In 1991 sunken Arabia’s cargo was transmuted into Arabia Steamboat Museum.
