SmartTube App

SmartTube, also known as SmartTubeNext, is an open source, ad-free YouTube client application designed specifically for Android TVs and TV boxes. The app was developed using Java as the primary programming language. SmartTube provides an enhanced YouTube experience on smart TV platforms by removing ads, eliminating dependence on Google services, and allowing greater customization options compared to the official YouTube app.

The source code for SmartTube is publicly available on GitHub, allowing developers to contribute and propose improvements to the app. Regular updates are released adding new features and fixing bugs.

SmartTube does not support YouTube's live TV service, YouTube TV. It is solely focused on delivering the core YouTube experience of watching videos on demand in a lightweight customized player on Android TV devices. By removing ads and Google tracking, SmartTube aims to create a cleaner YouTube client for smart TVs.
