Stacey McKay

Hi, I'm Stacey McKay, the owner of Sly's Design Shoppe. The name Sly came from an old friend growing up on the island of Trinidad, WI. He often said, "You don't speak, just sit , listen & watch everything around you, that's just sly." Well that was true then an now. I like to analize things around me, i.e. the task I'm presented with, I listen to my clients and the bloggers request and ideas, and that allows me to be able to capture their hearts desire.

I began my business from the love and passion I have for a nicely dressed home and the love of sewing. And my Blogs for the love of communicating with others and pleasing customers, as well as living in different places throughout my young years and having the chance to experience tastes, and flavors of variety.

Creating and completing projects for clients bring me joy, comfort and the satisfaction of a job well accomplished along with satisfied client. Years ago, when I was around 12 years, I assisted my mother around the Christmas holidays with sewing curtains for the home, while she decorated, painted & went to her regular job. It’s here I learned the importance of Christmas joy: it was watching my moms face as we hung the curtain, lit the tree & turned the lights off.

Just as I did back then, I take full pride in watching my clients faces light up when the changes appear them once my creations hang in the windows, lay on their beds, or sit on their sofas. Even the re-purposing of their dining room furniture, my quality, price value, and timely work ethic is what every client receives when they choose Sly's Design Shoppe. These values serve as my compass and the cornerstone of my business philosophy when I chose to start my business back in 2000 in Brooklyn, NY.

I have since relocated to Houston, TX but still maintain the communication with my New York clientele. My goal is; no one is left hanging, just their curtains. This work ethic I know will extend to my new home in Texas.
