Susan Duff

I live in northern Illinois in a small farming community. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Multimedia and Web Design from the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg, Illinois, as well as a Master of Arts in Education/E-education from the University of Phoenix Online. Because of the way I went through my Master’s program, I have quite a lot of experience in being an online student, so I can certainly relate to this chosen method of learning.

I have been in the field of multimedia and web design for several years, and truly enjoy the great variety of work it involves (images, video, audio, etc.). Some of the work I’ve done involves working in the multimedia education department for a large corporation where we designed and developed online training for our employees. In addition, I have been involved in several multimedia and graphic design projects, both as an employee and as a freelancer. I am especially thankful to be part of the online learning environment.

I also have a background in photography, which includes event-related work for a local newspaper, as well as some freelance work. I have won awards in some local photography contests and was also invited to participate as a judge in another one. When my son was in Boy Scouts, I also became qualified as a merit badge counselor in the subject of photography. I have had a love for photography as long as I can remember and always seem to be the one ‘behind’ the camera rather than in front of it. One of my favorite subjects are deer (see photo to the right) and other wildlife. I have also become very fond of high dynamic range photography (see photo to the right).

On a more personal note, I have a 27-year old son, who has his BFA in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production, and two cats (see photo), who keep us laughing. One of my favorite travel destinations is Walt DisneyWorld in Florida. I enjoy all of the parks, but especially Disney Studios, where I can go on my favorite ride - the Tower of Terror (see a group photo in front of the ride at the top of this profile). We always have a lot of fun there and typically get together to make a video of the entire trip, which usually consists of anywhere from 10-15 people. Oh, and ‘p.s.’ I love to shop, especially at DisneyWorld!
