Sharad is a veteran technology executive and serial entrepreneur. He currently serves as a Strategic Technology Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of Sanmina-SCI Corporation, a top-tier electronic manufacturing services company. In his ~30 years in the information technology industry, Sharad has held a broad range of C-level, functional, and technical leadership roles in both start-ups and public companies. Before joining Sanmina-SCI last September, Sharad was a Vice President in the Office of Strategy and Technology for Hewlett Packard, where he provided 360 degree leadership for HP's multi-billion dollar strategic relationships with AMD and ARM Holdings, Inc. Prior to HP, he was the principal founder and CEO of two "big idea" start-up companies: Procket Networks, Inc., that competed with Cisco and Juniper in Internet core routers, and Fabric7 Systems, Inc., which competed with IBM, HP, Sun, and Dell, in converged network and computing infrastructure. Together, these companies attracted over $325M in venture capital, and produced industry-leading platforms whose concepts were later taken mainstream by the incumbent OEMs. Earlier in his career, Sharad was a processor architect with Sun Microsystems, and an ASIC designer with Silicon Systems, Tustin, CA. Sharad holds four degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, including a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Masters in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He holds ~20 patents, with several others pending.
