Ben Atkins

Dr Atkins is the principal and owner of Revive Dental Care. Ben believes the key to great dentistry is communication and listening. He is particularly passionate about smile design and making his patients feel comfortable. He bought the Monton dental practice in 2001 and the practice has grown from a single surgery practice, to the nine dentist, four surgery award winning practice. Ben also runs the emergency out-of-hours service in conjunction with NHS Direct, for seven Primary Care Trusts throughout the region. Ben lectures at Manchester Dental School and undertakes specialist complex restorative work for Salford Primary Care Trust. This work entails any dental treatment that general dental practitioners feel is too complex for general practice. Ben also mentors children from Levenshulme High School. After qualifying from Sheffield University, Ben travelled to Sweden to work in the Karolinska Dental Hospital, renowned for its restorative work. Dentist of the Year Ben has won the prestigious national Dentist of the Year Award and Northwest Young Dentist of the Year. Ben is the chairman of the Local Dental Committee of Salford . He is a member of the Modernisation of Dentistry Committee and advises on clinical matters for the Local Primary Care Trust. Ben is Press and Parliamentary representative for the British Dental Association and in his younger days was the Chair of the Local Young Dentist Committee and a Member of the National Young Dentist Committee, advising the BDA on matters that affected the young dentists. He is the Representative of the British Dental Association on the Government Department of Health, Oral Health Unit at Manchester University. In his spare time, Ben keeps bees, chickens and is a keen gardener.
