Advertising. What an amazing profession to be a part of. Does anything change as dramatically and rapidly? I’m experiencing a paradigm shift in real time. I’ve early adopted the technologies that are altering the marketing landscape, crafted strategies and campaigns that bend and flex to align with new consumer behaviors, helped position and reposition brands and products and services, and all with the requisite demand for accountability. Success metrics. You gotta have ‘em. The profession of blended art and science seems to have gotten a nudge from the science side, big data, programmatic media buying, measurable engagement, DVRs, have all brought the audience and the KPI into sharp focus. Ah, but let’s not forget the power of creativity, the gravitational pull of a good idea. The right message, in the right place at the right time. The challenge of getting it right is invigorating. These are the great days of advertising and I’m all in. Let’s keep changing, thinking and creating. That’s the energy of advertising. That’s what fuels my passion.
When I’m not working I like to explore − with books, backpacking trips, photography, videography, my fitness levels through running and riding, with family travel, software programs like Keynote and Google SketchUp and beer, especially the micro-brewed kind.
