Some Personal Stuff

I've lived in work in NYC for more than 20 years. I spend my days with my wife Andrea and three cats. (No that's not me in the picture, that's Agador Sparticus).

Life in NYC is entertaining enough, but I've been known to dable in other pusuits such as rock climbing, marathon running, sailing and general mucking about.

Professional

Director of Knowledge Management at Sullivan and Cromwell. Prior to Sullivan, I spent my early career as a technical consultant developing data based systems for clients like AT&T, BASF, DLJ, Publisher's Clearing House, HSBC and Chase Manhattan Bank. All of these pioneering engagements involved defining and correlating underlying business problems with appropriate technology solutions.

I joined Sullivan Cromwell to help their business development professionals create a system to provide real time information describing the experience of the firm with its clients. This effort is ongoing and began with the integration of lawyer time reporting, billing, and exterior data sources. By establishing a proprietary data warehouse and related software, the project has expanded to include more than 50 purpose specific applications ranging from knowledge management to resource allocation.

"Information flow is an organization's life blood. Good circulation is essential to stay alive. Technologies and information sources are constantly evolving forcing us to constantly monitor and adjust how we manage information in terms of volume and richness. With the advent of the cloud, social networks, smart mobile etc. we have to choose very carefully how we integrate new flows."
