Although it is headquartered in Palm Beach, Florida, Smith Cove Capital borrows its name from a nautical anchorage area in the Long Island Sound, the body of water that separates the Connecticut coastline from Long Island, New York. Over the past 4 years, this family office has opportunistically concentrated on debt securities and distressed equity in dislocated market segments and investment classes. .

The family office operates under the leadership of its founder, David Russekoff, who guides it according to a comprehensive opportunistic portfolio management philosophy that he built over decades of professional experience. A graduate of Columbia Business School and the Prudential Bache Securities Financial Management Training Program, Mr. Russekoff got his professional start with the Leveraged Finance Group of Lehman Brothers before serving as a principal at Oak Hill Advisors and ultimately rising through the ranks at Perry Capital to become its managing partner and chief investment officer.
