I am an artist, a designer, a student, a fashion enthusiast, and a dreamer. I am curious and eager to learn which is what led me to pursue an apparel design major from the University of Delware, the fun yet, at times, tough task I find myself in currently. In addition to my school work I am in the process of starting my own womens label, Kaeli Smith Designs, with my father. I have been chasing this dream for the last two years and despite the normal heart wrenching, exhuasting, and fabulously costly qualities of beginning your own business, my dresses have been sold by over one hundred boutiques up and down the east coast. My brand is driven by the popularity of my hand painted prints, the aspect which customers find so unique about my brand. On top of my company I work part time licensing original artwork to companies including Evergreen Enterprises, Peking Handicraft, and RoundTop Collection with whom I continue to create extremely successful lines. My career goal is to one day become a name brand designer and everyday I work closer to differentating myself from what is already out there. It is one thing to have talent but you have to have the drive and passion to push yourself forward and the courage to fail. I utilize my strength in art to pursue both an artistic career as well as in fashion, and am in constant search for new knowledge and inspiration to push me along in my adventures.
