Madeleine Smith

I've been working as a sole proprietor in the areas of music publishing administration, music clearances of all types, and some film music supervision for over 25 years. I got my start with Eazy-E and Ruthless Records back in the mid-80's. I enjoy the back office aspects of the music business, although I was schooled in music theory and practice and began my involvement as a songwriter.

I live in the Los Angeles area with my two children Michael (13 - adopted from Bulgaria) and Hana (10 - adopted from Guatemala). International adoption, especially of children with special needs, is something that is close to my heart. As the mother of an autistic child (Michael), involvement with organizations that are working toward enabling kids with autism to become the best that they can be is also something that captures a lot of my time and interest.
