Nikita E. Smith was born and raised in Washington, DC and attended the D.C. Public Schools. She received her call to preach the gospel in 1998. She served as Armor-bearer to radio personality Pastor Doris Boyd for 4 years and was a member of the Christ Creator Victory Ensemble. In 2000, God gave her the name of the ministry which is known as God’s Women Overcoming Obstacles.

She was licensed to preach in July of 2001, under the leadership of Pastor Warren Edmondson of The Greater Dimensions Faith Ministries. In 2006, Nikita served as a minister under the United Cornerstone Churches International; under the leadership of Bishop Keith Jackson Martin of Rehoboth Rebirth and Restoration Church. In 2008, Nikita became a devoted member of the Temple of Praise under the leadership of Bishop Glen A. Staples.

Although Nikita has preached at numerous churches in the metropolitan area, she also has worked as a legal secretary for over 10 years. She currently works for a major law firm in Washington, DC. Nikita is pursuing her degree at University of Maryland University in Emergency Management and minoring in Business Management while working on her theology degree. She is the proud mother of Douglas who loves the Lord.

Through the sufferings of rape, molestation, sodomy, drug abuse, suicide, and low self-esteem she is an example of how with God you can overcome obstacles. Her motto is “We must live a transparency life to help others overcome”. It is her goal to help as many women as God put in her path to overcome obstacles in their everyday lives.
