I am a European & UK Professional Engineer (Eur Ing, BEng, CEng, FICE) and hold an MBA, with electives in strategy and international business, from a top rated UK Business School. I also have a Masters in International Law and Arbitration (LLM) and am a legally and professionally qualified International Arbitrator (FCIArb) and a trained Expert Witness.
My skill set combines a highly effective combination of technical & engineering knowledge, management & finance expertise and law & contract skills.
This provides an excellent basis to consult and assist clients with complex technical problems, including analysis and resolution of technical disputes, improved change management, business and project management, co-ordination & planning, forensic reviews, investigations and audits, project recovery and crisis management
They are also very effective skills for commercial negotiation, the preparation or analysis of contracts and the winning of claims or disputes.
I am also active as a neutral third party Mediator, Adjudicator, Arbitrator, FIDIC DAB and Expert in commercial and technical disputes.
Currently (Jan '17) on an assignment in Doha, Qatar for Arcadis (a global Dutch consultancy), leading a claims and dispute team following their acquisition of EC Harris and Hyder Consultancy. Work includes resolution of numerous legacy issues in a very busy construction market, including disputes on the $36bn metro project, ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar
