Sung-ae Moon

My task is to finish a thesis on Korean cinema and a memoir that homes in on the year that I spent in Korea. Some of the larger themes I seek to incorporate in the latter are independence and identity in global and local contexts. My story is both unique and universal in that, as someone seeking meaning beyond materialism, I lost and then found myself.

I firmly believe there's an artist in all of us, and, if this work, in any way, inspires you, as a woman, as an adoptee, as a person of color to tell your story, it will have done its job.
