Sorcha Mooney

Hey guys I’m Sorcha, a 22 year old studying Arts and Business Management in IADT. I’m currently in 4 year. I’m from and live in Drogheda close to Bettystown, do you know it? Well those who do will also know that it’s a trek to get to. I travel about 4.5 – 5 hours to college and back. So to all my lecturers, now you know why I don’t make it into college every day!

I love my college, it’s hard to believe that in a few months I won’t be going there anymore. I’ve met some amazing people here. “Friends for life” as they say!

On my free time, I like to go swimming or draw a bit. I am a Pisces after all!

I worked with Bodytonic, as part of my internship. I’ve never experienced a job role that suited me so well. They were very pleased with me and my work that they've kept me on when I returned to college.

I love my job, and the people I work with. I’m good at what I do and I enjoy doing it, which is what really matters. I’ve learned a lot working for them I was thrown into the deep end from the beginning but it made me learn so much quicker and get involved more.

I have great fun working on all our events and our annual festival Beatyard, there’s a lot of work involved and it does get tough at times but the outcome is worth it. To say that’d you’ve created, built and managed a festival is such a good feeling.

I never thought that by the age of 22 I’d have it all figured out, with a secure career job in place. I have to say I’ve never been happier that I am now.
