Smooth Erin
Dancer, Small Business Owner, and Teacher in New York
Raised in Atlanta, GA, Erin has spent her life in dance, receiving early training at Decatur School of Ballet, Spelman College Children’s Dance Theatre and Atlanta Ballet’s Centre for Dance Education; and spending her summers with Dance Theatre of Harlem, The Rock School, Kirov Academy, The Ailey School and The Dallas Black Dance Theater. Erin has performed in the 50th Anniversary production of West Side Story at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Chicago’s Ravinia Festival under the Broadway musical’s original Assistant Director, Gerald Freeman. It is there she feel in love with musical theater!
Erin graduated from DeKalb School of the Arts in 2006 and is a 2010 graduate of Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts with a B.A. in Dance. She taught ballet, modern, and hip-hop at the Southwest Arts Center for 5 years where she enjoyed touching the hearts of children through dance. After suffereing an injury, she moved back to Atlanta from New York where she was continuing her dance training at The Ailey School in an Independent Study program. But that didn't hold her back! In 2012, she debuted as an actress co-staring in the play Sunday Worshiper, which traveled to Indianapolis at the Madame CJ Walker Theater.
Now that she feels she has had an abundance of training, it is time for the spotlight! She moved to New York in 2013 to purse a career on Broadway one day at a time. She is excited about continuing to fulfill her dreams through dance and other aspects of the "industry" locally and internationally. And while she has made strides trying to get to Broadway, she found a new passion in jewelry making and started a company... Dani, Finley.
