In this space I hope to share with you my love for the natural beauty of my homeland Mauritius.
Mauritius is an idyllic and beautiful volcanic island nation in the Indian Ocean. We are known for our pristine white sandy beaches, lagoons and natural coral reefs.
The Mauritian interior is mountainous and encompasses Black River Gorges National Park, with rainforests, waterfalls, hiking trails and native fauna like the flying fox.
Our capital, Port Louis, blends foreign influences from French, British and many other nations from times of spice trade and offers sites such as the Champs de Mars horse track, colonial Eureka plantation and 18th-century botanical garden.
