I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta with Stone Mountain as a backdrop. I think having this incredible act of nature in my backyard is what really sparked my love for adventure. My best friend and I would go hiking, forging our own path to discover hidden treasures and secret spots. Because of this, I now have a very strong admiration of nature and the amazing things that it can create. I have also been a vegetarian for two and half years now and have never felt more connected to mother nature and all of her creatures; every single one of them - big and small. It has given me a new perspective on life and how fragile it can be. I have learned to strive to make the most of all of my days, filling them with things that I love. Like many, I want to live life to the fullest and not get bogged down by the small and petty. Most importantly, my life goal is to have an impact on the people and world around me. I want to live selflessly and give what I can to others, even when it is only my time. You never know what small act can change the course of someone elses life.
I currently am a student at the University of Georgia studying Dietetics. I hope to graduate and one day become a registered dietician helping people acheive their goals of a healthy, happy lifestyle. I work closely with The Campus Kitchen Project at UGA, an award winning student run organization that works to eliminate food waste and end senior hunger within the community. We take food that would otherwise be wasted and turn it into nutritious meals to be delivered to those who need it.
