The past four years have been filled with exploration, understanding and motivation to immerse myself in global health issues. The result has been a growing and burning drive to focus my attention to reproductive rights/health and consequently maternal health as a field. My career is geared towards working on improving health systems, focusing specifically on the delivery of quality maternal and child healthcare to marginalized demographics within a population as well as advocacy on matters involving reproductive rights.
I plan on working on policies focused on ensuring every girl, adolescent and woman of childbearing age has access to free, accurate and timely contraceptive services. I believe that to have a healthy and thriving nation, the women who are the foundation of the communities need to be healthy as well in all aspects as pertains to their overall well being. Providing sexual health education and access to contraception is a right.
