Hello! Welcome to my blog Brown Mzungu Travels.

Mzungu is a term commonly used in the Bantu languages of eastern and central Africa to describe foreigners, particularly those with white skin. However, the term originally was used identify someone who is moving around to see everything. It is with this intention that I, a brown-skinned mzungu, am traveling to Uganda this summer to work with an international NGO called Uganda Village Project. In this blog, I will relay the work I do, the lessons I learn, and the adventures I stumble upon. Hope you enjoy!
