International archi-type, designer, photographer, and world traveler. Shawn O'Donahue brings 22 years of experience as a design professional over an extraordinary wide range of commercial projects. Shawn is most passionate however about design work in the hospitality industry. His experience has provided him extensive knowledge and insight into the industry’s most unique trends over a wide range of projects, hotel brands, and cultures across the globe. As a visionary, his project experience ranges from rustic mountain resorts and restaurants in North America, to tropical beach hotels and private clubs in Latin America, urban hotels in the Middle East, and exotic bars in Asia. As an avid traveler the designer is a connoisseur of exotic coffee and a seasoned scuba diver.

Shawn has a degree in Architecture from Portland State University with extended studies in the University’s Barcelona, Spain studio. He has been called on to speak at events such as the Hospitality Design (HD) Convention in Las Vegas, Hospitality Design Magazine’s Resorts of the Americas in Miami, the Boutique, Luxury and Lifestyle Association (BLLA) Convention, and Design Week in Milan. Prior to founding S-Pod Studio in 2014, Shawn held the position of Director of Design at several international design firms specializing in boutique hotels, restaurants, bars, retail, and other entertainment venues worldwide.

As a designer, project manager, and visionary he brings the experience of creating a “lifestyle” to any type of project he undertakes. Most of his commissions begin with a phone call from a client who says: “…so I bought this thing, can you help me figure out something cool and amazing I can do with it?”
