- The problems your customers are trying to solve that will lead (or not) to a purchase;

- The journey your customers go through from the moment they have a problem to solve to the moment they make a purchase (or not);

- The difficulties they face when trying to solve their problem

- And the aspects they value when looking for a solution (luckily: your product/service).

Now, if, by any chance, you're a marketing guru, I know I must use the following keywords to touch your heart: jobs to be done (or customer jobs, as you wish), customer pains, customer gains and consumer decision journey (aka: customer journey). These are the tools I work with most though I also feel very at ease with business model generation.

Anyway, by using them - and I've practical experience in this field, you're avoiding the risk that is usually linked to new product launch (50% to 90% of failure depending on the source you choose to follow...)
