Musician and composer
My name is Sofía, and I am a classical musician and composer with over 25 years of experience and proven skills in the field.
I began my studies with the Suzuki Method at the age of 4 and received training from Finlay Ferguson and Esteban Raspo.
I have taken masterclasses and private lessons with renowned musicians such as Mirjam Tschopp (CH), Carmelo de los Santos (BR), Sophie Lüssi (CH), Paul Kantor and the Borromeo String Quartet (US). I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with many notable artists, including Augusto Blanca (CU), Raúl Carnota (AR), Yusa (CU), Raly Barrionuevo (AR), Olga Román (ES), Ana Prada (UY), Víctor Heredia (AR), Ximena Sariñana (MX), and others.
In 2006, I was honored to receive the First Prize at the 25th Selection of Young Musicians organized by the Mozarteum Santa Fe (AR). During 2011-2012, I was awarded a scholarship to study Music Performance with Dr. Shannon Thomas at the University of Southern Mississippi.
I have played in various orchestras, including the Teatro del Libertador de Córdoba Youth Symphony Orchestra, National University of Córdoba Symphony Orchestra, Rosario Chamber Orchestra, Southern Miss Symphony Orchestra, Meridian Symphony Orchestra, Rosario Symphony Orchestra, Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
In November 2022, I was honored to be selected as the winner in two categories at the 168 Film Festival in Atlanta (GA): Best Original Score Composer and Best Sound Design.
Currently, I continue to pursue my work as a music composer, teacher and musician. I have had the privilege of composing music and do the sound design for film productions in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Holland, Poland, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, including projects for Netflix.
