Sole Survivor

Pacific Northwest

I couldn't afford new boots when I was a teen so I scoured the thrift stores until I found the right pair. I took them down to the local shoe repair shop and asked how to care for them. I'll never forget the smells of wood, boot polish, old, and new leather of that shop. Now whether I am at work or in my workshop, that smell lingers on. It is the smell of creation, renovation, preservation, and of making things last just one more day.
