Carlos Solis

The occupation of a communist regime in 1961 forced Carlos Solis and his family to flee their homeland of Havana, Cuba. Carlos was brought up in the Little Havana area of Miami and started writing and composing in the early 70's. Carlos was well known in the area, recording at the Music Factory & Dukoff Studios and also played on local television programs AM Miami and Fusion. When he married in 1977, Carlos decided to put down the guitar and focus on his business in order to provide for his growing family. Eventually, the Solis family relocated to Clermont, Florida where they currently reside. In 2008 his wife of over 30 years was diagnosed with cancer, and upon this revelation, they sold their flourishing business in order to focus on her recovery. During this time Carlos began writing again and reconnected with the talents of Jerry & Richard Bravo, Jackson King, & Camilo Valencia. The team began recording a new CD fused with Jazz, Bossa Nova, Latin & Big Band sounds. Carlos and his wife Sandy were given the 2012 Citizens of the year from the South Lake Chamber of Commerce was appointed by the Governor to sit on the Distric Board of Directors at South Lake Hospital also served on the Business Advisory Board at Lake Sumter State Collage ,He is also on the Planing and Zoning Board in Clermont FL. and serves on the Board at Pig on the Pond Festival.
