SOM PANICKER

I am SOM PANICKER, popularly known as SOM and at my home I am known by my pet name ANIYAN, meaning younger brother in my native languange Malayalam.

I am born in a remote village called Areekkara , near chengannur, Alappuzha district in the southern state of kerala , India.

I have done my initial schooling in my village and college in Chengannur and then moved to Mumbai to do my graduate program in Biomedical Engineering from Mumbai University at Watumull Institute ,Worli.

I have started my professional career with Toshiba as a CT engineer in 1989 and after working almost for 4 years I have moved to Riyadh Saudi Arabia as a CT and MR Engineer with Philips Medical Systems , Netherlands.

I have returned to India in 1998 and joined Hitachi Medical Systems as a MRI Engineer and continued that job till 2009.

I have left Hitachi in 2009 and moved to Mumbai again.

I was appointed the Vice President of MRI Business Operations of Sanrad in Jan 2009 with responsibility for all Strategy Development, Marketing, Brand Building, Product Quality and to assist the CEO with the commercial side of the business. I have been an MRI Specialist for 20 years and also held a number of senior level positions in the leading Medical Imaging Equipment Companies like Area Manager, Project Manager, Sales Support Manager and was instrumental in the establishment of many of the company processes. With many years of CT and MRI experience from Toshiba, Philips and Hitachi . I joined Sanrad in a more challenging role in 2009.

I have been working in the Medical equipment industry for more than 36 years,

I keep writing about Biomedical Engineering in many periodicals and also love writing in my native language Malayalam. I have my own blog and is very active in social media networks.

I am a Biomedical Engineer by Profession , Writer by Passion , Traveler by Choice and a Farmer by Tradition.

I love traveling and meeting people ,when I plan to retire I want to become a farmer like my father in my native village Areekkara .
