Sonia Garrido

I am a marketing and PR professional, with a background in food & hospitality and environmental sustainability.

A few facts about me:

  • Peruvian born and raised, I moved to Kansas for college. The best four years of my life happened in Lawrence, KS. Rock Chalk Jayhawks!
  • I believe food sustains our spirit, so I am passionate about responsible food supply. As Virginia Woolf once wrote, "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well."
  • Long Island, where I live, is a magical place where the city meets the country and the ocean. Thankfully, we have access to plenty of farms and vendors who produce fantastic seasonal products.
  • I am an avid traveler and thirsty for learning more about the world and its foods, one experience at a time!
  • My favorite activity is to read a good book with Roxy, my four-legged friend, lying next to me.
