Sonia Teas

Since 2011, Sonia Teas has served as corporate counsel for Genus plc, a biotechnology firm with offices in DeForest, Wisconsin. In working with Genus, she oversees critical matters related to research and commercial contracting, legal strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. Sonia Teas draws from a diverse background of academic and professional experience, including a bachelor of arts in sociology from Grinnell College in Iowa and a juris doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison.

Prior to joining Genus, she served as a risk management legal intern for the Washington, DC-based Washington Hospital Center. While there, she performed a number of tasks related to streamlining database operation practices and literature review procedures, as well as participating as a member of the center’s risk management committee.

In addition to fulfilling her professional responsibilities, Sonia Teas supports progressive causes devoted to community uplift, including Habitat for Humanity. Away from work, she enjoys spending time outdoors via activities like skiing, playing soccer, and exercising with her two dogs.
