Dr. Sonita Sadio
Sonita M. Sadio is an Aesthetic Surgery Fellow at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Born in the British West Indies, she and her family immigrated to the United States in order for her father to pursue his doctoral work in theology at Princeton Seminary. She was educated at The Peddie School and Yale College before graduating Alpha Omega Alpha from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. After beginning training in Urologic Surgery at Harvard University’s Massachusetts General Hospital she discovered the world of reconstructive surgery and embarked on a fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She grew up in an intellectual and spiritual household and was encouraged to appreciate the arts. She was raised to believe that personal excellence is a lifelong pursuit. Even more rewarding than the goal of self-actualization is to play a role in the self-actualization of others. Dr. Sadio sees Plastic Surgery as a privilege and a calling and was drawn to Aesthetic Surgery for the unique opportunity to work in collaboration with patients as they accomplish their very personal aesthetic goals. It is an area of wellness unique in all the world of medicine. Her hobbies include ballet and Argentine tango. She is a past member of the Proust Society of Boston and enjoys art in the classical realism style.
