Sonja Sulcer

Sonja Sulcer is the founder of Caribbean Innovation Ventures. She is passionate about inspiring individuals from the Caribbean diaspora to maximize their potential as innovators and entrepreneurs.

She designs, develops and manages innovation and entrepreneurship training programs for an international audience at Stanford University. She has managed several in country programs for organizations and government entities in Europe, Asian and Latin America. Her responsibility also involves identifying and evaluating new global business development opportunities and creating strategic partnerships.

Sonja was the founder of Catered 4 U, a personal chef and catering company that catered to professional athletes and Silicon Valley executives. She also co-founded along with her husband, Dr. Jarvis Sulcer, a math and science education company.

She is a native of the Caribbean nation Guyana and a graduate of Cornell University. She enjoys running and playing tennis. One of her favorite Caribbean quotes is “Aim for the sky so if you fall you will fall on coconut trees, but if you aim for coconut trees you will fall on the ground!”
