Yo, I’m Sonja, but you probably already know that. If you're looking to get to know me, at least a little better, you've come to the right place- I, and people in general, are a lot more than numbers and letter grades.

I’m a student of Troy High School, a school located in Troy, Michigan (not Ohio (those copycats!!)). I may have grown up in Troy my entire life, but that doesn't stop me from looking for a good adventure around the block. I love the outdoors, and I'm not afraid to get down and dirty with the bugs, especially spiders- my very favorite- that never cease to fascinate me. Pretty sure I just lived in my backyard when I was little, managing Bug Town was a huge commitment.

Swimming is (and always will be) a huge part of my life, and something I have no idea how I'd live without. When I'm not swimming on the competitive team, dancing for the synchronized swimming team, or getting rough and rowdy in water polo, I'm teaching the little tykes how to enjoy the water just as much as I do.

Fun fact: I am also in love with surfing. The Michigan lifestyle may not allow it, but I know Hawaii is always sportin' great waves.

When I'm not in the water, and I'm not outside with the bugs and animals, I'm either in my room drawing while jamming to music, or hanging with friends. Art is my favorite hobby, and it is not uncommon to find doodles covering my workbooks. When my parents bought me my first sketchbook, I somehow managed to fill it up in three days. Seriously.

If we're gonna talk school, my passions are biology and chemistry- any day is a good day for a bio or chem lecture. Just like coffee, it wakes me right up on a less exciting day of school. Math? Alright I admit I like it, but let's just say we have a love-hate relationship.

Band is also a large part of my school career. Classical music, movie scores, and nonlyrical music are a lot of fun to listen to and play. Not gonna lie I'm proud of being first chair bassoonist in both the top band and orchestra programs. And during marching season, I play alto sax, a fun alternative to the bassoon.

If you click the 'view my portfolio' button it will direct you to a blog on my thoughts regarding various topics.

But that about sums me up. I just might be worth a shot.
