My name is Sonya Zimmer, and I live and work on the unceded traditional territory of the Yaqan Nukiy of the Ktunaxa Nation in the Creston Valley. I am a District English Language Learning Teacher and Inclusion Support Teacher with School District 8 and have over 23 years of experience in education. I am currently completing my Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership and am passionate about inclusive practices and equitable learning opportunities for all students. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, backcountry skiing, gardening, walking my dogs, and spending time with my family.
