Dr. Sooraj M. Subrahmanyan is an assistant professor at the School of Spiritual and Cultural Studies, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. He is a researcher and writer working at the intersection of Indian philosophy, culture, and society. He holds a PhD from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, with his doctoral research titled “Theodiversity, Challenges, and Responses: Revisiting Sabarimala and the Ayyappa Tradition.”

He has over 15 years of academic and industry experience in Indian culture and philosophy, along with multimedia and visual design applied to cultural communication and interpretation. His work explores temple traditions, theodiversity, and dharmic approaches to pluralism, examining how Indian philosophical frameworks shape lived cultural practices and everyday belief systems.

He has presented at national and international conferences, including the Dharma-Dhamma International Conference at Nalanda, the International Mind, Brain & Consciousness Conference at IIT Mandi, and the IKS National Youth Conference at IIT Roorkee, among others. He was an invited delegate at the Youth Spiritual Summit 2025 organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and an invited speaker at the National Seminar on Political Communications in India: Narratives, Representations and Explorations at the Central University of Kerala.

Alongside teaching, he contributes to curriculum development in Indian Knowledge Systems and has authored book chapters in works such as Strategic Lessons from Mahabharata and Leadership Lessons from Ramayana. He is also a contributing writerto Matruvani, with over 50 articles on spirituality, culture, and philosophy, and engages in public discourse through talks and media discussions.

He currently serves as a National Committee Member of AYUDH, contributing to youth engagement, cultural initiatives, and social impact efforts. His broader work includes mentoring students, visualizing interpretation centres on Indian Knowledge Systems and Dharmic Futurism, and participating in social and environmental initiatives.
