I am a writer and literary scholar, a dance and movement artist, and a creative entrepreneur.

With artist and inventor Phil Ross, I co-founded MycoWorks, a biomaterials company that is creating natural alternatives to leather and polymer foams, using mushroom mycelium.

My creative practice takes the form of collaborations with performance artists, writers, and visual and sound artists to create and perform multimedia, movement-based works. I earned a PhD in English from U.C. Berkeley, and I integrate my research and performance practices through dance, choreography, writing, and curation focused on critical somatics: thinking with and as bodies.

With artist and educator Lisa Rybovich Crallé, I co-produce Heavy Breathing, a series of critical somatics workshops. We are pleased to have completed a second year of programming in 2016 with the support of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives.

With artist, author, and musician Brontez Purnell, I dance and choreograph for Brontez Purnell Dance Company. "Fake Autobiographies: The Love Story of..." an evening-length, expanded duet premiered in 2016.
