Sophia Fox

My name is Sophia Fox and I'm a freelance artist & illustrator who enjoys bringing a happy mood to Londoners and London life.

I'm from Eastern Europe originally, a part of the world which is full of dreams and aspiration but I have recently settled in London and I decided to inject this city with some Eastern allure and even a little magic.

I've been spreading the Happiness Switch around the avenues and alleyways of East London as an invention of the imagination, and if you are lucky enough, you might just discover them in Holborn, Bethnal Green or Aldgate East. Keep your eyes open and you can find them too; on bus stops, all around these beautiful streets and even on the tube.

The switches themselves don't do much, they simply live their own life, smiling at people and bringing joy, but they never die, only when someone removes them.

My project concentrates on unconditional happiness. Most people seem to think they can be only happy if they reach specific goals in life, like passing an exam, buying a house or getting a partner et cetera.

Far too many people let those wonderful little moments of happiness pass them by without even noticing they've missed a chance to smile.

The everyday folk of this remarkable city are my clients, through my work I like to sprinkle their lives with some cheer, big smiles, a little love, maybe some laughter and perhaps to administer a few temporary measures of happiness.
