Sophie Catherine

North Carolina, United States

First of all, yes it is spelled correctly! It's "Hello" in German. Why? Because it is my dream to become a foreign exchange student in Germany through Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX). Obvioulsy, I would be happy with any program as long as I get to go and experience full immersion and represent the United States. I'm currently in high school and I attend my local high school. I live in a super small town in North Carolina about an hour away from the coast. Luckily my family has always been big on traveling and I most likey developed my wander lust from my Mum, who was actually a CBYXer in her senior year of high school.

Enough talk about becoming a foreign exchange student.

Here's a little bit about me:
I'm 15 years old, and I turn 16 in January. I'm currently a junior in highschool. Yes, I'm going to be only 15 when I start my junior year but that's simply because I skipped a grade. No, I'm not super smart. I was just homeschooled my 9th grade year so I had the ability to work ahead. Plus, if you ask me, the system is kind of lax and didn't really request much proof of work. Although, there is no way my parents would let me skip a grade unless they thought I was ready for it. Fingers crossed that I don't fall behind because CBYX requires a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. I'm not a super social person because most of my focus is on my studies but I have a close friends. I'm currently single but not looking. I know a little bit of Spanish only because I took Spanish 1 my freshman year of high school. If anyone is confused, I was only homeschooled one semester of my 9th grade year.

I have two older brothers and one younger sister. My older brothers are twins so I consider myself the middle child, which isn't very fun at all. It's a little bit easier now that we are all in our teen years but when we were younger it would always go youngest to oldest or oldest to youngest and so I never got to go first! My brother and I are super close and, day by day, my sister and I are getting closer too. My one brother, the oldest by nine minutes, is rather anti-social but he has some good moments. Anyways! I believe that's enough about me! Thank you for taking the time to read this.
