Sophie Donoghue
19 years young from the icy grip of the North East (UK). Zest for life and it's counterparts, particularly food and the arts. My love of film first sprung from my love of literature (being primary inspo for film through adaptation). I was educated in catholic schools and sixth-form up until I left for university aged 18, whereby I am presently enjoying the change of teaching method and extended freedom I now have with my studies which have now dived into practical and technical realms of media instead of mere theory work which I mostly delved into prior to Uni because of lack of resources at sixth-form. I am currently finding university a refreshing experience compared to the vigorous & ruthless nature of my previous religious educational institutions. Although I loved school and sixth form, coming to MCR for Uni has given more variety to my life in terms of the type of people I am surrounded with, opportunities and learning conditions, outcomes and social environment. My sister is currently still studying her A levels and the stress she oozes is a tangible memoir for me, but gone are the days of sixth-form oppression and now is the time to practice what I preach.
