Sophie Tarrant

I am interested in working with innovative organisations in Education and Creative Industries. My background is in English as a Second Language Teaching, Workshop Facilitation and Administration & Marketing. I am interested in working in Brisbane, Ipswich area, or even abroad.

My passion is for educating people, especially young people. I love to inspire creativity. This is demonstrated in my creative writing workshops that I created and presented for 8 to 13 year old school children, run as part of the Brisbane City Council What's On holiday programs.

I also spent a year running a poetry and music showcase that occurred monthly in a South Brisbane bar (pictured above). This involved in-depth project management, hosting the night and marketing the event on social media.

For the past two years I have been teaching young adults English at language schools in Brisbane. My core duty was to facilitate creative, engaging and informative English classes. What I enjoyed most was learning about different cultures through my students; learning from my intelligent, helpful colleagues and self-learning that came from professional development courses and online research.

People often describe me as enthusiastic, diligent and self-motivated.
