In 2008 Minister Mercer received a vision from the Lord while ministering in worship at Life in the Spirit to start a praise and worship ministry dedicated to taking the church to a higher dimension of worship, from the outer court to the inner court, from the inner court to the Holy of Holies. SOP is a unique praise and worship ministry dedicated to developing the "sound" of praise and worship leaders and is currently under the covering of Pastor Robert LeCount.

After another year, Philip's season was up at Life in the Spirit and other doors were opened for Philip to share his gifts and talents. One of the doors was a conference hosted by Pastors Billy and Kim Nelson where Philip was given a new opportunity to branch out and preach the Word of God. It was at this conference where Philip met Bishop Jerome Henry who would become one of his fathers in the gospel. Philip felt a connection to Bishop Henry and knew that God placed him in his life for a reason. Philip joined covenant with the Zoe church under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Henry and God continued to open even more ministry opportunities for the spoken word and praise and worship.

Philip's unique sound continued to touch the lives of others and eventually he was offered a position as music director for the Victory Way Christian Center under the leadership of Bishop and Dr. Swinson. Philip remained in this position for a year until God told him it was time for him to walk in the fullness of his calling. On January 30, 2011 Bishop Jerome Henry ordained Philip as a minister of the gospel. Philip continued to walk in his calling but felt that he needed more instruction and teaching so that he would be more effective as a minister of the gospel. After seeking God, he was led to join covenant with his uncle's ministry, Disciples of Christ under the direction of Pastor Robert LeCount. Philip continues to preach the Word of God with conviction and authority and ushers the church into the shekinah glory of God at this ministry.
