Gia Septiana is a lecturer in Computer Science at School of Computing, Telkom University. Having research interest in cryptography and started to research about homomorphic encryption, she currently has a big passion to continue doctoral degree. More about her career, please check her university blog.

She once went to Japan to get her Master Degree. However, when she was there, not many people know about her home country; moreover about her hometown, which she really love (FYI, some people even asked if there are any phone, internet, or cars in her hometown!). In 2013 she joined Bandung Portal Project, a project to promote Bandung to Japanese. She helps create a book and website to share information about Bandung for Japanese people (kindly check bandungportalsite.org).

She also loves to watch Japanese and Korean dramas and talk shows or variety shows. Her passion for Japanese dramas started since she was 9 years old and still continue until now. Watching Japanese dramas helps her improve her Japanese language skill, specially in listening.

Not only Indonesian as her mother language, and Sundanese as her traditional language, she also speaks English and Japanese, and wants to learn Korean also. She mostly use twitter for her practice.

She is also interested in photography but she doesn’t really have skill for it so just doing it as hobby to be uploaded to her instagram.
