Orlando M. Sharpe, a professional educator, holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and earned a MBA from Fontbonne University. With more than 15 years of experience in the education field, Orlando continues to look for exciting life-long learning opportunities. Over the years, he has developed technology curriculum and delivered high quality professional development for technology instruction and integration. He has also led presentations at Fontbonne University’s Fall Technology Institute as well as the Midwest Educator Technology Conference (METC) where he serves on the Planning and Action Committee. Orlando currently works as the STE@M Program Director for YMCA Community Development (Gateway Region YMCA). During the STEM Teacher Quality Institute, he works as part of the STEMpact Facilitation Team to develop teacher quality in STEM education. He actively participates in various local opportunities to develop skills and build capacities in STE@M Education and Community/Youth programs.

His love of technology and innovation inspires his exploration of a diverse range of topics and adventures. From LEGO Robotics to Cardboard Prototyping, Orlando actively participates in the Maker Movement. While working on his own projects, he regularly collaborates with other makers and artist to develop projects and ideas. Orlando’s passion for innovation, education and technology is only matched by his sense of family and community. Along with his amazing wife and talented son, they are developing a small community/youth organization BetaKids.club, to increase Positive Opportunities to Participate (P.O.P) in our communities.
