Sotiris Anagnostopoulos MD is a cardiac rehabilitation cardiologist, whose birthplace is Trikala of Thessaly in Greece. He graduated from the medical school of Democritus University of Thrace in 1997. He specialized in cardiology at the University Hospital of Heraklion, Crete. He also received further training in the subspecialties of Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET), Exercise Physiology and Prescription, and Cardiac Rehabilitation at Athens Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center (O.C.S.C.) and Athens Eugenides Infirmary (Thoracic Diseases Unit, University of Athens). The scientific fields of his further training are: Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) or Ergospirometry, Cardiorespiratory diseases rehabilitation, Rehabilitation of overweight patients with metabolic assessment at rest and exercise, Exercise physiology, Prescription of Individualized Aerobic exercise programs, Athletic ergometry. He is a member of the Greek Society of Ergospirometry, Exercise and Rehabilitation, The Hellenic Cardiological Society and The European Society of Cardiology, and serves as editor of medical section in the general content magazine "Fresh". It is also a scientific consultant and associate in the radio medical programme «Our health - Gift of God" of the Cretan Orthodox Archdiocese radio station. He is co-founder and scientific director of Cardiocare (Kardiologiki Frontida in Greek). Cardiocare is a high profile, primary healthcare company providing sophisticated individualized medical services. Its current headquarters is in Iraklion of Crete in Greece, which includes the following departments: General cardiology, Preventive cardiology, Cardiac rehabilitation with Basal metabolic rate measurement and Exercise prescription-Personal training, Sleep apnea evaluation. Currently, the company adopts the biopsychosocial model in clinical practice and the concept of concierge medicine in the financial and administrative field.
