Souhrida Charity

Souhrida Charitable Society (Reg No T 546/08) is a registered society under The Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955 aimed to provide possible helps to the needy in an event that is occurring in and around the area of establishment. The society was registered in the year 2008 beginning with 50 founder members.

The core idea behind the society is based on a vedic verse mentioned in Isopanishad

“isavasyam idam sarvam

yat kinca jagatyam jagat

tena tyaktena bhunjitha

ma gridhah kasya svid dhanam”

Which means everything animate or inanimate that is within the universe is controlled and owned by the Lord. One should therefore accept only those things necessary for himself, which are set aside as his quota, and one should not accept other things, knowing well to whom they belong.

Souhrida is engaged in various activities which are mostly to stretch a hand to those who are really in need of the same. This includes medical assistance, providing school kits & scholarships for poor children, financial assistance to patients, financial assistance to marriages in poor families and most importantly to bond together as a single unit to point out various social issues which come across in and around the society.
