Soultrē

She describes poetry as her first love and the piece of her soul that was buried for years, and in its reemergence and resuscitation she discovered who she truly is all over again.

She is…SOULTRĒ, an African-American poet, spoken word artist, writer, motivational speaker and radio personality. She was born and raised on Chicago’s Southside and now resides in Peoria, IL where she is the mother of two beautiful boys. Her gift and passion for poetry and spoken expression have led her into the spoken word arena where she is described as a breath of fresh air, stunning, intelligent and awe-inspiring.

Soultrē believes that words are God-given gifts and should be used to inspire and motivate others to greatness. Her intent is to reach the hearts and souls of women and girls whose self-esteems have been tattered due to life’s circumstances no matter what they may be. Self-love is her message, which she delivers through the sassiness of her down-to-earth poetry performances.

A lover and admirer of expression in written and verbal forms, Soultrē is a published writer, Assistant Editor for AfraVictoria Magazine, Spoken Word Artist with LLP Productions and Hostess of Euphoria, a radio show that airs on 90.7 FM WAZU Peoria.

Soultrē is currently working on her first CD and book projects entitled, "I Choose Me". Both are scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2011.
