Sounds Like Disco is an American indie-dance band formed in Los Angeles California. Established in 2014, Sounds Like Disco is composed of five members: Sergio German (Vocals, Guitar, and Synthesizer), Miguel Lopez (Guitar and Synthesizer), Jake Shafer (Bass and Backing Vocals), Jaime Zendejas (Drums and Percussion), and Callie Ray (Vocals and Synth).

After many years of playing Ska in the underground Los Angeles scene, German and Zendejas slowly moved away from playing "Skacore" (a mix between 4th Wave Ska and Hardcore Punk) into producing more relative and mainstream indie rock music. Both members decided into recruiting new members with different influences to construct their new indie rock project. Both members posted ads looking for a bass player in which Shafer ended up responding due to his need for a more harder and upbeat project than the one he was in at the time. As for the final member, Lopez was a classmate of German and Zendejas in college. Due to member changes, a position was open to join the band. Lopez, a fan and a friend ended up asking to practice with the current members which led to him securing his spot as a permanent member of the band Sounds Like Disco. After a collective decision, SLD agreed to open a spot for a perpetual vocalist. As a final result, the band introduced Callie Ray into the mix solidifying a foundation for their musical visions. Sounds Like Disco mixes indie-electronic rock with disco breakbeats to create a synthesis of post-punk dance rock .
