SOUNDS OF IMANI is a contemporary gospel recording duo in Detroit, MI who began ministering in 1996 and continues to provide anointed ministry of music to the gospel and jazz community.

The artist is a 2015 Detroit Music Awards Nominee for Gospel Artist and Gospel Recording "Must Be An Angel" and Season 4 Prayze Factor Award winner. Sounds of Imani is also the recipient of the Excellence in Christian Music Academy 2013 Certificate of Recognition.

SOUNDS OF IMANI is soaring to new heights providing the best in contemporary gospel music! In addition, the artist appeared in their first professional acting roles in Michael Matthews gospel musical stage play entitled "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" in April 2016. Carol played the role of Mother Taylor and Gerald the role of the Old Deacon. The show was sold out and it truly was very well put together by the Prodigal Son Productions team.

The duo has ministered at theAMTC Open Mic, Michigan State Fair (Novi), Anointed Faces Gospel Coffee House, Juneteenth Celebration, NCCJ National Walk For Justice, American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life", 4th Fridays, African American Music Festival, Motor City PraiseFest, The Parade Company, ABLA Reunion in Chicago,IL, Children's Fundraiser with Miss CJ in Milwaukee, WI,; Blackmon Enterprises Live in Los Angeles, CA; various shelters, correctional facilities and many other venues throughout Metro Detroit and abroad. SOUNDS OF IMANI has also appeared on local WDIV TV4 in Detroit. TV33 WHPR on the Brenda Perryman Show and Ortheia Barnes TV Show.

The U.S. singles for "Must Be An Angel" and "It's Alright" were released on March 25, 2014 - with two new music videos. Songs were written by Gerald Ervin, Carol Ervin, and Daron Steward. Sounds of Imani is working on a new single scheduled for release at the end of June 2016 entitled "Because of Who You Are" on indie label Heaven-Wings Records.
